Sarah started painting at age 14 using acrylic paints. Playing with different textures and bold colours, Sarah almost always paints with palette knives instead of brushes.
Sarah moved to Vancouver Island in 2013 and slowly started to share her artwork with others. She established an art instagram site in 2019 and had her first solo art exhibit in November of 2023, selling 13 paintings. She is inspired by nature and often incorporates landscapes and trees and cloud formations into her work.
Although a self-taught artist, Sarah attends workshops for motivation and to meet other artists. Sarah is a part of a several local art groups and enters painting exhibits whenever she can.
Sarah acknowledges the role art has played in her overall health and well-being. Sarah has struggled with her mental and physical health all her life. Recently diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromialgia; Sarah had to leave her job due to the severity of symptoms. Being able to paint in her home when having better days has been a blessing and very therapeutic. Art and music are something sarah has always used to process and move through challenging times.
